Boston Native Survives Homelessness by Sleeping With Different Women Every Night

Meet Joe, a 26-year-old homeless Boston transplant who sleeps on the streets of New York City when he can’t find a woman to take him home.

At first, I couldn’t tell if this was satire or not – but I guess it’s not. Apparently that’s a common theme with Elite Daily, the millenial-focused, clickbait “troll-hole” that produced the video. The Awl describes them as, “the first true editorial product of the post-sex-tape era.”

“It specializes in two kinds of attention-trawling: Luxurious images of beautiful people doing things that require a lot of money, like looking at each other on yachts and driving along cliffs and also frank and sexist outrage trolling.”

So, Joe seems to be exactly the type of homeless person Elite Daily would choose to interview: A 20-something, clean-cut, douchey, vaguely sexist everybro. This makes it all the more unfortunate that he’s from Boston and has a clearly-noticeable Boston accent. Joe is clearly what happens when a Barstool-reading, Scumbag Steve-type dude becomes homeless.

Joe emphatically begins the interview by saying, “Since there’s 8 million people in this city, if you’re not getting laid you’re a fucking asshole.” Watch it below:

In all seriousness, Joe’s story is not that different from those of other homeless people – even he deserves our understanding and compassion. ANYBODY can fall victim to circumstances out of their control and become homeless.
