Earls Kitchen + Bar will open their doors for their first New Year’s Day brunch. As a reprieve for the Assembly Row shopping faithful, Earls Kitchen + Bar features traditional brunch preparations with signature twists. From Chef Pennington’s kitchen comes: Eggs Benny (Virginia ham, hollandaise, grilled sourdough – $13); Chorizo + Mushroom Hash (poached eggs, crispy fried potatoes, avocado, field mushrooms, hollandaise – $14); Eggs Florentine (poached egg, spinach + mushrooms, parmesan cream sauce, polenta, sourdough – $14); Croque Madame (grilled sourdough, poached egg, white cheddar, Virginia ham, roasted serrano cream – $13); and, Sourdough French Toast (Chantilly cream, pure maple, seasonal fruit – $12). There are also a la carte sides available, including: Crispy Fried Potatoes ($4); Two Poached Eggs ($5); Toasted Sourdough (housemade – $2); and, Bacon ($3). For the social bruncher, International Beverage Director Cameron Bogue recommends pairing these culinary delights with the Signature Caesar (the infamous Canadian-invented cocktail, with Skyy vodka, clamato juice + signature spices – $8), Mojito (lime, raspberry or cucumber; Bacardi Superior rum, mint + fresh lime – $8), or a classic Mimosa (orange juice + sparkling wine – $6). Earls Kitchen + Bar’s full menu also will be offered from 11:30am to 1:00am.

River Bar at Assembly Row will celebrate the first day of 2015 by hosting a New Year’s Day brunch indoors and by their fire pit and heat lamp-lined outdoor areas. From Executive Chef Patrick Gilmartin’s kitchen comes Confit Chicken Scrapple & Fried Eggs ($8), Smoked Bluefish Hash & Poached Egg ($9), The River Bar Breakfast Sando (egg, Taylor Pork Roll, Brillat Savarin cheese, leeks, stone & skillet English muffin – $14), Bourbon French Toast ($10), Chorizo Scotch Quail Eggs ($9) and Housemade Chinese Sausage Sub (black bean mayo, red cabbage, cucumber slaw – $13). For sides, there is Fried Sweet Potato (pomegranate molasses, scallion – $6) and Maple Bacon ($5).

Created by Executive Chef Noah Gagnon, SKYBOKX 109’s brunch menu offers innovative takes on classic fare and includes the following highlights: Steak & Eggs (10 oz. sirloin, three jumbo eggs, home fries and sourdough toast – $13); Bananas Foster French Toast (cinnamon brioche, caramelized bananas, butter-maple glaze -$9); Breakfast Pizza (eggs, bacon, cheddar, onion and potato – $10); Hash Mash (corned beef hash, three jumbo eggs, sourdough toast – $11); Three and Out (three jumbo eggs, three slices of bacon, home fries, sourdough toast – $10); and, the famous BOXK Bomb (10 oz. angus burger, jumbo egg, ham, Swiss, brioche French toast – $12). For guests looking to start the New Year off with something spicy (or better yet an eye-opener that’s acts as a “meal in a cup”), SKYBOKX 109’s Bloody Hail Mary cocktail boasts a cheeseburger slider, shrimp cocktail, smoked bacon, hardboiled egg and crisp celery stalks.

Executive Chef Farouk Bazoune of Strega Prime in Woburn will usher in a fresh start to 2015 by serving a special New Year’s Day brunch menu. A recent James Beard presenting chef, Bazoune’s menu offers elevated renditions of classic brunch fare boasting Italian twists. For starters, highlights include East Coast or West Coast Oysters (cucumber mignonette, horseradish cocktail sauce – $14/$16; four per order), Smoked Salmon (chive cream cheese, capers, red onion, parsley, brioche – $18) and Herb-Crusted Wagyu Carpaccio (house mustard sauce, horseradish oil, parmesan cheese, arugula, grissini – $17). For entrees, Chef Bazoune’s standout options include Herbed Egg White Frittata (oven-roasted tomatoes, goat cheese, basil – $13), Jumbo Lump Crab Omelet (tomatoes, ricotta, chives – $18) and Roast Pork Hash (potatoes, onion, carrots, sweet potato, sunny side eggs – $18). For steak and eggs fans, a selection of prime cuts are served with two sunny side eggs and home fries such as the 8 oz. Petite Filet ($37) and 16 oz. Dry-Aged Rib Eye ($47). Sweet and savory sides include Truffle Parmesan Frites ($6), Rosemary and Mustard Ham ($6) and Grilled Asparagus with Sea Salt ($7).
